Podiatry

Podiatry, may help to alleviate pain for those suffering with multiple sclerosis.

Many of our MS members have benefitted from Podiatry and we’re delighted to now have enough therapists to make it available to those with other conditions too.

Good foot health is extremely important for us all and a good podiatry treatment can make all the difference to the look and feel of your feet. Healthy feet can also make walking feel more comfortable.

Some people with MS may find it difficult to care for their own feet for various reasons, such as difficulty bending forwards due to muscle stiffness or balance problems. Some people may have sensory problems in their hands which makes it difficult to hold or apply the correct pressure on nail scissors.

Our podiatrist can offer a wide range of treatments which include:

  • Routine footcare treatment including cutting and filing
  • Cutting and treating fungal nails
  • Hard skin and callous reduction
  • Dry feet and cracked heels
  • Ingrowing toenails
  • Veruccae treatments
  • Reduction of thickened toenails

How do I access podiatry at the centre?

Podiatry is available to members following an initial consultation with Karen Middlemiss our MS Support Manager.
