What’s happening for MS Awareness Week?
Monday 27 April – Sunday 3 May is MS Awareness Week, a chance for anyone connected with MS to raise awareness of what it’s like to live with the condition – as well as raise much-needed funds. We have a few things planned – do get involved!
ALL WEEK: TAKE A MS SELFIE ON FACEBOOK!
If you’ve never taken a selfie before, now’s your chance. We’re encouraging as many members as possible to post a picture of themselves on our Facebook page – and then text SELF18 £5 (or an amount of their choice) to 70070.
The aim is to raise funds to go towards gym equipment and hydrotherapy, so let’s see how many posts and donations we can get during the week.
MONDAY AND TUESDAY: TIN SHAKING
We’ll be shaking tins as part of store collections at the Dover branch of Morrisons on Monday 27 and Tuesday 28 April. Store collections are always a great way to meet others, spreading the word about MS and the centre. So if you’re in the area, do come and say hello – we’ll be there from 9am-5pm, at the store on Bridge Street, Dover CT16 2LB.
WEDNESDAY: RETAIL THERAPY
Come along to Kent MS Therapy Centre on Wednesday 29 April at 7.30pm for a relaxing evening of retail therapy. Models (including two of our very own members) will be wearing lovely high street outfits on the catwalk – and you can buy whatever you like at reduced prices.
We get a commission on sales, so now’s a good time to replenish your wardrobe. Tickets cost £5 each (or buy two for £7), and the show starts at 7.30pm. Please call the centre on 01227 470876 to book tickets.
THURSDAY: ARE YOU A WINNER?
This year’s spring draw includes prizes such as £250 and a family ticket to Dickens World. If you’re a winner, we’ll let you know after the official draw on Thursday 30 April. Good luck!
SUNDAY: QUIZ NIGHT
Our MS Awareness Week 2015 will wind down with a quiz night at 8pm on Sunday 3rd May at the Granville pub in Canterbury. Individuals or teams are welcome to enter, and tickets cost £3 per person. See thegranvillecanterbury.co.uk.
