About the centre

First class facilities for those suffering with multiple sclerosis.

The Kent MS Therapy Centre offers first class facilities to support people affected by MS – those that have the condition, their families, friends and those who care for them.

With tremendous support from existing members and supporters from the local community, we have been able to create a modern building with a warm and welcoming environment that delivers a wide range of excellent services to help members manage their condition and improve quality of life.

Perhaps most importantly, KMSTC is a social hub that allows members the opportunity to share experiences, problems or ideas – or just to relax and have fun with friends.

In this wonderful new state of the art facility we continue to create a happy, caring and positive environment with much laughter, carrying on the tradition established when the original centre first opened in 1984. You can read more about our amazing history here.

We also publish regular newsletters, full of information about the Centre activities and uplifting stories from Members.

Our aims

To radically improve the lives of those with MS, their families and those who care for them and to be recognised as the next point of contact following MS diagnosis:

  • by the provision of a range of complementary therapies and specialist clinics
  • by giving advice, support and information to those living with MS, their carers and families, in an environment which encourages mutual support and friendship
  • by being a Centre of Excellence which enables self-management of the disease.

Area of benefit

The centre is here to support anyone affected by MS, whether it be those living with MS, a family member, carer or friend.

The centre covers the whole of Kent with the next nearest centre being in Swanley in North Kent.

“As a young person with MS the centre has made a real difference to my life. I love having a place to come that no one else in my life sees, but makes me feel normal and not labelled by the disease. It’s brilliant!”

Making the most of your therapy centre

Whether you’re newly diagnosed or have had MS a while, we can offer practical and talking therapies as well as the opportunity just to drop in for a cup of tea and a chat to others who will share and understand your situation.

Managing symptoms

There are a number of therapies that can help reduce some of the debilitating symptoms of MS, improving quality of life and enabling people to manage on a day to day basis. KMSTC provides all the necessary equipment as well as a team of qualified staff to administer and supervise as necessary.

News and information

Reference books, research papers and other reading matter dealing with general health as well as MS subjects are kept at the centre for people to use. ipads are available for those wanting to take part in online MS chat rooms and forums etc.

Families and carers are welcome too

MS can impact on the whole family as day to day routines sometimes need to change. We are here to offer advice and support to families and carers too. An opportunity to get together and chat/meet with others in a similar situation can be invaluable.

Centre café

We have a self-service café area where tea, coffee, soft drinks and snacks are available. Everyone is welcome to bring their own food, important if you need to follow a special diet.

Anybody with MS is welcome to drop in at any time without the need for treatment.
